We felt like the unfit, the unworthy, the inadequate, and the timid, but we decided to place it before the Lord in prayer. When we met again we concluded that God was in this, and that he could make it happen in spite of us. We named the church Crossroads Christian Church, hired Joe Fry as pastor, and tried to make a plan that incorporated the things we liked about churches we had belonged to or visited. God very quickly provided the Ukiah Conference Center as a place to meet, and we had our first public service on Easter Sunday with attendance of 86. God has blessed this new Church in so many ways. He has provided a state of the art sound and video system, a great worship team, and very competent workers for a Children's Church and Nursery. Nearly every week God is developing within the church, new ministries and opportunities to reach out to the community, and the people to make it happen. We have a prison outreach, a Spanish outreach, a fantastic youth group, a college age group, a drama team, a puppet ministry, church sports programs, and numerous small group meetings to develop close knit relationships. Gatherings at the lake and other fun activities are common. We are a group that likes to have fun together. God is touching people and changing lives, he is bringing us wonderful families and developing an excitement and anticipation that is palpable. People arrive early for church and have a hard time leaving after church. God is truly building a wave for us to ride at Crossroads Christian Church and what a joy it is. We invite you to join us and see what God is doing, and find out what He can do for you. Services are at 200 South School Street, Ukiah. Service is at 11:00 a.m. We meet for coffee and refreshments at 10:30 a.m. If you have questions please call our church office at 467-8400. It is our prayer and goal that God will send us seekers, those with a desire to know more about our creator, and also mature Christians who do not have a church home. We encourage those that have a church home to continue in the work that God has provided for them. |
